Picked up this Big Jim racing mod motor but have no idea of when these came out as I have never owned one before. Was thinking of using it in my Pro SE.

That's a sweet Big Jim. Looks like a 1991-93 Trinity/Epic Championship tear down.

When Revtech made these motors, it seems like it would be odd for them to have a label where they called it 'classic'. My guess would be the classic label was added later by a collector or seller.

Anyone see a label like this on any other Revtech motors?

How about other Revtech motors with an EPIC endbell?

Yeah....that's legit. Late 80's, or more early 90's I think they started doing that. The 16 single was one of their most popular, it ran strong in off-road oval and on-road oval/can am for me...and you could mostly get it to make a full race before dumping with a little extra to work back traffic...with decent matched packs. One of my all time favorites around '86 thru '88...easy plug and play speed for competitive club races and some bigger events. Probably why they labeled it Classic. Like all their motors, the endbell went through many evolutions but that Epic endbell is period correct. I've been following that one, good condition, seems to have never been soldered up or ran.

Regarding Revtech motors you have to keep in mind there are actually two different Revtech companies.
The original Revtech company was started and owned by Neil McCurdy.

When he went to work as the motorbuilder for Trinity, Revtech was sold to Ernie Provetti.
In my mind these motors are not 'real' Revtech motors anymore.
I'm just not sure now, when exactly this happened.
Actually I knew but my old brain forgot.

Maybe three companies?.....since Revtech bought Checkpoint long before the Trinity merger? Either way, this collection is 100% 'real' Revtech, minus the Twisters of course.

I've added the ABC Hobby M&Y Tune Up Motors. I deciphered a really poor black and white copy of the specs, only to discover there was a nice and clear version already uploaded here the moment I was done.
