help starting OS Max

I have a old OS Max CZ with BH under the mount. I believe it came from an old Rampage gp10. The pullstart works fine with the glow plug removed but when the glowplug is installed the pull start will not wind back up unless i turn the flywheel by hand to rewind the rope.

Since the pullstart has no relation to the glow plug the only thing I can think of is the one way bearing is sticking to the starting shaft or somehow getting stuck when it's put under the load of compression. Take it off and clean it in some type of cleaner, take note of the direction of the bearing so you can put it back the same way.
