This caught me off guard the first time I drove a car that was smart, my cars are all too dumb to even tell you if your seatbelt isn't fastened.....

But I found the fact that when you veer into the next lane to avoid parked cars on the side and the lane assist tries to push you back into them a little unnerving....

The thing with AI at least in the chat and broad information form is it's in its infancy, and works badly as a result. The problem is it's gathering its information from poor sources and portrays it as factual since it doesn't know the difference. I've tried out various instances of it asking questions I already knew the answers to, and it was wrong almost every time! Then when I would correct it, it would apologize and say I was "absolutely right" and then go on a rambling spiel with the new information. My concern is for all the ignoramuses out there that are going to automatically believe everything it tells them. There should be a disclaimer you have to agree to before its usage where it states it's for entertainment purposes only.

On the subject of The Jetsons, AI is the equivalent of Uniblab.

TokyoProf...why did you post your question here instead of just asking ChatGPT if it was ethical to use AI to generate your response to a forum discussion?

Your reason for starting this thread is why I wouldn't want an AI generated response to one of my posts.

☝️ That's the mike drop statement of the thread right there.

While I think cultural lag is more a result of access to a technology rather than the ability to process it, I don't see A.I. as unethical. Are libraries unethical? Magazines? Google? How a person obtains information changes with time, and it's apparently A.I.'s time. Remember how bad autocorrect was when it was new? Remember the jokes and commercials about how bad it was? Autocorrect was the first consumer level interactive application of A.I. that I can remember and after a couple decades has matured to become... less flawed... than before. Which is what people really didn't like, not the technology, but how flawed the technology was. Same with A.I. Admit it, if you could type in an R/C related question and get a 100% correct answer... you'd be into it.

Hold on, that's already a thing... his screen name is GoMachV

Am I for A.I.? Of course not, I'm male, the most resistant to change species to walk the planet since the dinosaurs. But I wouldn't call it a stretch to guess that at some point once the technology matures an A.I. search bar will sit at the top of the RC10talk main page. Will it kill the forum? No. But it will reduce the number of repetitive questions that seem to annoy people. Another tool in the box. We could even give it a name... like, Uniblab... or Pigvomit... or Steve.

For now though... have you read the A.I. generated ads on eBay? Terrible, just terrible ..."This RC10T black bulkhead gold pan will surely make for the best upgrade to your racing machine. Manufactured by greatest of names gold pan bulkhead is renowned Team Associated for grace under pressure. You will benefit greatly from its issuance and be the star of your show".... WTF?!? I just want to know if it's new, used, or been shoved down a garbage disposal and fished out of a sewage pond with a crappie rod.

From stone tablets to A.I. in less than 2000 years... that's progress. 👍

AI is troubling but I find BS to be a much bigger problem.

Of course, I'm usually the one holding the shovel...🤔

This is a forum , a place where people come to talk ,argue or discuss, I have no interest in the opinion of a machine here it's human interaction I want .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Literally dozens of movies showing how AI is a bad idea.

BTW, this was not aimed at anyone's response. It was just a bad joke very early in the morning before coffee. :D
