One of the best looking aluminum wheels made, which axle are your rears for ? The set I have are 1/4. Fits not as good as nylon wheels though the way they seat. Kind of surprising.Lavigna wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:45 pm I got these vintage aluminum RC10 wheels. Not repros. They are in perfect condition. They were mounted but never run.
I don't know much about aluminum wheels. I have always loved the look of this pattern. Does anyone know who makes them and their value? I'm not interested in selling them, just curious. Thanks.
So what did you get in the post today ???

These are 3/16. I agree. I love the look. Very clean.MarkyDents wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 10:24 amOne of the best looking aluminum wheels made, which axle are your rears for ? The set I have are 1/4. Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I got one of these. I bought 2 from the same vendor, so naturally one shipped from CA and the other from NC to arrive on different days.
They will go to the local {whatever we call an orphanage now that we aren't supposed to use the word "orphanage"}. It looks to be rather well made. The level of detail in the body is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the body is held on with 4 small click tabs molded into the underside of the body. I hope the tabs are more durable than they look. I didn't dare try them since the package was sitting on the porch (27 degrees here today). Given the size (1/24), I was surprised to see it has a 2 speed transmission (switchable on the radio) and portal axles. The color is a little disappointing as it looked red in the ad. The other one is blue and is screaming for some Bigfoot decals.

I think the tape job is magic!
. .
Not a bad solder job under all that electrical tape mummification.
. .
Much better! Now I just need to try it out. I'd never heard of this ESC before seeing one on this site recently.
. .
......but reverse doesn't seem to work. It only has 50% magic.

Lowgear wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:18 pm I've been after early '90s Duratrax hop-up parts for the OS CZ-R engine for a few years now. One item I've been looking for is a Stage II head which recently came up on eBay. I feel I paid too much for it at $63.80 shipped but they don't show up often. The last one I saw was NIP but the packaging was too beat up for my liking. You have to figure the contents can't be in much better shape. Anyway, it came in the mail today improperly packed (what else is new?) in a chintzy bubble mailer opposed to a box but seems unscathed.
I also (hopefully) have an early '90s Duratrax slide carb throttle linkage kit coming that I paid an exorbitant amount for which again, I absolutely hate doing but they're super rare. This is the first time I've ever bought a vintage part online from a brick-and-mortar mom-and-pop hobby shop. I was a bit apprehensive about it being legit but had to take the chance.
I had a chance to take the Stage II head out of the package, and it's absolutely beautiful! It really shows off how Duratrax used to be a proud American manufacturing company in the beginning. I was worried it would have marks on it from being in the package since 1992 but it appears to be unscathed. I can't tell you how many times I've spent the money to buy a vintage part NIP only for it to be scratched, bent, marked, etc... as a result of being handled for decades which is always discouraging.
The slide carb throttle linkage kit showed up today, and for once in my life I took a gamble which paid off big time. I thought I was just buying the carb linkage alone but the kit came with the super rare Duratrax slide carb as well!

Now to store these two items away with the other parts I've been collecting for a build, and not look at them again for years. Hey, at least I'm honest with myself.

One of the old hobby shops in Oregon had one of these in the back room, I was thinking you had found it there (as they have a website now) but I dont see that they ever listed it. If you need another one reach out to Hillsboro Hobbies and see if its still there
Its been a good 5 years since I put eyes on it

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Ha, spot on! That's where I got it from!
This just confirms my belief of the rarity. They took the page down after I bought it. I couldn't believe that a hobby store would have one listed for sale. I researched it to see if they were a legitimate place, and hoped for the best. I bought it for my Nitro Thrasher build but am not sure if it's capable of working with that application. It's meant for that platform but the Nitro Thrasher has a reverse mounted engine. If it won't, I can save it for the right model as I'm just happy to have it.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
That's awesome. They bought out another hobby shop many years back (RC Modeler NW) and just stuffed most of the stuff in the back room. I plucked all the stuff I could justify but it was all full retail or very little markdown so I passed on a lot of stuff like that carb.

Yeah, I felt that I dearly paid for it which is something I almost never do but wanted it that badly. Once I realized it included the carb, it was a lot more justifiable. Watch a bunch show up on eBay now for half the price.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Finally found a GT2 Factory Team to complete my GT collection!
Almost thought the package got lost because it took a few days longer to arrive and the tracking wasn’t updating anymore…
It’s in decent shape apart from the front left suspension being completely gone.
I suspect it was only run on the street or grass as there are hardly any scratches on the bottom.
Just got to clean it up, find the missing parts and a black RTR body for the boxart look.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Got this little guy in with the plan to pull the rollcage off, and turn around and sell the roller. After getting it though, I think I have already have all the parts it needs, and the brown dye can go to black, and I think after very little work, it will be a runner. It probably won't be much of a runner due to the trans, but a fun little scooter none the less. Now that I type that, I probably have a later gearbox sitting around that can go in it maybe.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Found a correct turn and wind armature for the Reedy modified Gold Star, and welded at the comm like the original. Le Mans 600E and some more team car items.

Another style of front RC10 tires. I now have 4 rib, 7 rib, and these. Maybe 3 rib? Roundy flatty?
. .
Were there any other styles of front tires included in the kits?
