Needing help with Kyosho ZX-R build(!)

Post by DarrenRC »

Hello all,
I know it's been a while since anyone posted a Lazer ZX-R restoration build but, hopefully there are still some ZX-R fans on here who can help(?) After waiting over a year for a good ZX-R example at the right price to come along, I finally got my hands on one and am looking to fully prep and mod it for racing in Vintage class at clubs in my area. I "cut my teeth" with a fully specced ZX-RR back when they first came out so, I have a lot of fond memories of this car and really want to do the build justice if I can. The car itself was only ran for half a season then the owner broke the front upper diff housing and for whatever reason boxed it away in his attic until this year so, although the car has no upgrades once the diff housing is replaced.. It's a good clean car to work with. I've been reading through all the ZX-R builds posted on here and I have to say a quick thank to all those whom have as, I learned a lot about the car and what I need to do to get it where I want it, I've got quite a few mods for it,.. some I'm waiting on delivery for and some I'm still working on trying to obtain, (Stephen at Fibre-Lyte has been very helpful and friendly..). But I still need to try and find some Teamline Castor Blocks, the Nylon Front Diff Housing, Everything needed to upgrade the Slipper unit to the B4 or whatever works best for modern electrics/motor and I've seen a Alloy Ball Raced Steering Crank Kit on some Lazer ZX and ZX-R cars that I'd really like to sort for the car if possible(?)
I will be posting photos and details of the build once started and finished for any other Lazer fans who love this car as much as myself, any help would be truly appreciated in helping me with this build(!?)
Cheers

Hi Darren, I think I'll be able to supply everything you need for the B4 slipper setup. They started to be incredibly hard to come by so I've gone and collected everything from suppliers and have 5 sets spare. I'll get the last parts next week. Let me know if you're interested.
