Ho do I clean this mess

Post by AYKBOBCAT »

I bought a T2 and the gears were "lubricated" with some black grease! How do I clean this up? Can I just use dish soap?

Dish soap will no deolvethe gease totally. If you can buy a litr or smaller container of denatured alcohol, it will work great on those greasy parts. And it will not hurt the material you ae cleaning. It is flammable though so be careful and do it outdoors.

Why do they call it "denatured"?

Carb cleaner and laquer thinner is some rough stuff. I found that Mineral sprits AKA paint thinner works killer for degreasing.

Home depot has one called ODORLESS SOLVENT. Sells by quart or gallon . It has a yellow colored label. Go to the paint section.
