Futaba Magnum FP-T3PB rolling production changes?

Post by RogueIV »

I recently picked up a pretty nice spare T3PB. Initially I was just looking for a parts radio but this one seems to be in better shape than my old unit. But there's 1 thing kinda weird about it it seems during production at some point they moved the AUX control from small POT inside the door to the to a knob next to the TH.ATL knob, or vice versa. I found this kind of weird since there's clearly space for it on it's single knobbed sibling.

Does anyone know of other changes Futaba did along the way, and which came first?

Also does anyone know why when using 2.4ghz modules the battery gauge doesn't work? Is there a workaround for that?
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

-If I recall correctly, since I sold my 1024 a few years back, I had the same issue using both the FASST module and KO 27mhz Mini-Z module. The needle on the battery meter would not move when turning mine on, but a gentle smack on the top right of the radio would restore functionality.

Smacking it doesn't seem to help.
