Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
I found these original Checkpoint Platinum Series brushes in some old shop stock online a few months ago. Not cheap, and then i had to ship them over to the UK also.

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
Any idea where to get springs from? It seems that I'm missing one.

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
They should just be standard slot car springs. Group 12 and up.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 4:49 pm Any idea where to get springs from? It seems that I'm missing one.

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
So back onto the question of brushes that fit Checkpoint motors. I foolishly got some 26D brushes that are incorrect size and are standup instead of laydown. What spec of slot car brushes will work? I'm not familiar with any of them other than the ones that I now know are wrong.

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
For telling the truth, I forgot which size are the Checkpoint brushes.
But it seems there is a difference between real slot brushes and the ones used by Checkpoint.
The Checkpoint ones came with shunt wires, as with usual brushes for R/C motors.
Brushes for Slot motors never came with shunt wires. The wires at slot motors were inserted between the brush and spring, so pressed to the brush by the spring.
This is what I learned so far.

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
Definitely hard to find these with the shunts. I've had some luck in the past on ebay by searching, "R/C vintage brushed motor parts lot".....they pop up sometimes that way, mixed in with other stuff and are usually cheaper when they do. Scored these Trinity ones a few months back....$65, mixed in with about twenty other assorted sets of standard brushes.
