I had gotten an AE RC12 and finally decided to try to clean up the CF chassis.
Started with the worst part, which wasn't really that bad.
I used some Alclad II Aqua Clear as a "filler" in the scratches. Then sanded to 3000 and polished it.
It isn't perfect but it is a whole lot better than before.
The Alclad is my go-to for top coats and now scratch filler.

I put a healthy daub on a flat sponge polishing pad and spin with a drill.
To be honest, I really could not pick up the very minor scratch remnants with the camera, but I did try.
Way better than it started.

After purchasing a few cars over the past couple of weeks, it was time for a trip to my ex-hobby shop owner to see if he had anything for the new cars. He didn't have anywhere near what I was hoping for, but a couple of things. I was hoping he had a couple of original AE 1:8 GTP bodies, and I knew he had a Mauri Big Bear chassis hanging on the wall, so that was enough for the trip. He didn't have any AE bodies like that, but I found a HPI 1:8 GTP body, and although not of the actual vintage, the body is acceptable as a substitute IMO. He was more willing to sell the Big Bear than I expected, so I did get that, although I had to take apart the whole rear end to get the motor out? Really weird design! It had a gemworks motor in it that I wasn't interested in, and the price basically doubled with the motor in it, so out it came. With that kit, I now have 6 Big Bear tires that aren't cracked or falling apart!! And I am hoping that at least four handle being disassembled and reassembled. Then I just did a random search as usual, and came up with some rear HPI five-stars to match some fronts I had gotten from him previously, an older Traxxas 27mhz rx, exhaust deflector, a Bolink lowered RC10 front shock tower, a couple of Losi front buggy wheels, a free battery pack, a glow plug, and a JG RC10 MT conversion kit with the wheels and adapters removed. I already have some CRP MT wheel adapters, and never really liked the CRP MT body kit, so hopefully now I have the parts for a decent conversion.
