I don't think it's been mentioned but I've found another error with the manual.
Page 14, rear shock install, step 7 shows the shock bushing with the flange toward the tower/bulkhead:

The bushing should be reversed as explained in the original manual (page 32):

After installing one shock per the new manual, it seemed bound-up so I checked the original manual and found the error.

Hey AE, why don't you simply include the original manual with your new kits? Your new manuals are crap.

I'll add that note to my manual. I'm already running mine that way but I thought I needed to because of my full length wheelbase setup.

Just finished the transmission and it has a tight spot. I suspect the molded idler gear/shaft and/or diff gear are not concentric but I haven't yet confirm. Top gear is fully machined so it's probably fine. The spot is random so it's probably a combination of things.
Anyone else having this problem?

Did you use a bearing kit? I don't remember this problem, or it wasn't as severe in my case.

Yes - well, not actually a "kit". I have a box of bearings from various sources.
I've reassembled the trans again and I really didn't find anything wrong.
The sticking isn't severe so I'll just run it a pack or two and if it doesn't free-up, I'll swap the gears with a shelfer car.
Maybe I just got a bad set.

I actually love chasing stuff like that. Since all 3 gears are different tooth count, you can figure out which one it is by the revolutions or just mark a gear and see if it binds in the same spot every time. If not, mark the next gear and so on. Most of the time it's a tiny burr or piece of shrapnel in the metal gear
