That would be a very cool option! I wonder why Jay used the Hornet sized front wheels. Maybe because there weren't many tire options back then in the larger 1.9" front wheel size?scr8p wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 10:36 am A few years ago, someone posted a stack of images from the 85 Worlds on FB. I don't remember who it was, or which group they were in. But, there was a pic of Jay's car with a stars and stripes paint job. Could be a possibility. It looks like the corner of a Protech body.

I think it was just a tire he could get to work on the surface. The pins probably worked better than the ribs at the time.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 11:18 amThat would be a very cool option! I wonder why Jay used the Hornet sized front wheels. Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
I finally watched the full Jay Halsey video on the previous page. I saw a pic of my replica at the 9:30 time stamp.

Cool interview.
I know the industry has moved on, and tracks as in the video are harder to maintain, but THAT is what I call off road. The tracks today are on road tracks with INSANE jumps. I know the speeds today would never be possible on tracks like that, but that’s my opinion.
Sorry for the OT.

Yeah. That pic is from right before I sent it to him to sign the body so it still had the black wheels. I found the chrome outer halves after it came back.

Does one go this route to build a stealth? Or maybe it's easier to get the FanRC one?Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 8:47 pm It looks like a lot of them are:

Id hold off on the FanRc until he sorts the gritty diff plates and fixes the gear mesh issue. As much as I hate to say it, the AE trans is probably the way to go for now at least.Raman wrote: Does one go this route to build a stealth? Or maybe it's easier to get the FanRC one?

FanRC gear diff requires you to drill a few new holes in the chassis.Raman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 11:50 amGood to know.. thank you.. what are your thoughts on the new one FR-004A with gear diff?GoMachV wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 6:02 pmId hold off on the FanRc until he sorts the gritty diff plates and fixes the gear mesh issue. Going to go that far might as well go with the Factory Works/JC Racing transmission that uses B6 internals and doesn't require you to drill anything.

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
The new gear diff FanRC trans requires drilling the motor plate but I don't think you drill the chassis at all. From what I've seen it's just a simple drill jig for the motor plate
But yeah that's the main thing we concentrated on with our case- no drilling for ANY rc10, and any brace fits as well

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
You're right, I heard about the jig and immediately assumed chassis and not motor plate. In a way that's worse as you have to also tap those holes too.GoMachV wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 12:03 pm The new gear diff FanRC trans requires drilling the motor plate but I don't think you drill the chassis at all.
