Yeah between the short and long position, the spacer on the hub carrier side (and the ability to run thinner spacers for fine adjustment) as well as the inner mounts toe changing the wheelbase, you will have a wide range of fine wheelbase tuning. Someone would need to have some time to measure it all out and since there is only one body available I don't see AE wasting their time giving you all the measurements. One of us will have to do it.

Amain sold the (8) they had today.

One left here from another seller, with a shipping fee:

A lot of places now have the ASC8082 part number in their inventory but are showing OOS. Hoping tomorrow is when they are allowed to put them out.

One of their best looking bodies in the catalog back then.

Congratulations!! I can't wait to see what you do with yours. :D

I have a feeling; once these kits find there way to all the retailers, there will be plenty of DS re-re's to go around.

Really stoked on the DS, thanks! I was an RC10 CE and GT guy, back in '96 and '97, when I could finally afford to get back in to RC. I remember seeing the DS for sale in the store back then, and wanting one; my '96 CE came with the DS motor.

On closer inspection of the Hobby-Sports ebay auction, it says ships on 8-5 Monday. I bought mine from their storefront Friday at 1pm PST. No mention of ships 8-5 Monday on the site, I have the tracking number, but it's only a label so far.

Wonder if AE made all of the distributors wait until Monday to ship, like they did with the 40th and T. I noticed Amain has pulled all of their stock, and they had more than (10) yesterday on ebay.

Can anyone with a DS body provide actual total width at the stock Mustang wheel openings? I picked up a couple of Associated Racing 6166 Olds Cutlass bodies from a local hookup, and given their TA shape, I was thinking (hoping) they were based on the DS.

The WB is coming in right at 10.5", which isn't a good start given the DS is based on 10.28"

WT wise, I am looking at just at 9.25", with the DS listed at 8.8"

An AE pan car would be in the 10.5" WB range, but nowhere near 9+" wide, so I don't think they are pan car based. I think they are DS based, and just running a little long and wide relative to the chassis???
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

6166 was in their off road catalogs. I think they were using them along with their onroad wheels for rc10 conversions.

Why would anyone want to convert their RC10 to onroad? Oh wait ........................

Thanks Jeff! I feel like it is close enough to make it work somehow, even if not a true DS body. I looked into the Olds TA cars of the time a little bit, and found that Paul Newman was a part driver / owner (Scott Sharp based car), so I think I have tribute car to shoot for.

Gonna go off topic a little for a second but if you're into trans am and haven't seen the Willy T Ribbs documentary "Uppity", it's really worth the watch. Seriously great story about his battles on and off the track.

Tested out an HPI body on my TDP chassis, this has about a 10.28" wheelbase, or 261mm.

The front bumper on the chassis is keeping the body pushed towards the rear, but the DS should be able to use the HPI bodies.

With those gold DS stock wheels, I ordered an HPI Trans Am Bandit body, the wheelbase should be about right.
