TBG Kyosho Pro-X body & wing (+ freebie), and MCI decals. Notice MCI's Mega motor decals now have the "vehicle type" below the wind & turns numbers. Unfortunately, the uppercase "X" between the turn & wind numbers wasn't changed to lowercase "x" as I also specified. Ah well, not too worried about it.

Their images on the website don't show it. So I mentioned it to Nathaneal thinking what gets printed is exactly what's shown on his images. Did not know the decals where already like that.

Today was 'get a nice 15 turn motor from the gotta have list that comes with a buggy with cool wheels' day. That's one of my favorite days on the calendar.

I'm not sure. I usually expect Composite Craft to have the black white black layers showing at the edges but I have a NOS chassis for an Optima that has an all black edge. This also has an all black edge. Based on surface finish and general overall quality it appears similar to Composite Craft, but that would be just speculation.TRX-1-3 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 1:39 amIs that a Composite Craft originated chassis?Frankentruck wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 10:02 pm Today was 'get a nice 15 turn motor from the gotta have list that comes with a buggy with cool wheels' day. Somewhere around this forum there is a comparison picture thread of Composite Craft, duratrax and a 3rd one that I can't remember. Mostly Composite Craft made these chassis for several different distributors to sell under their names. IIRC the duratrax had those holes down each side but it's been awhile. Someone like scr8p, gomachV, or Phin could pry straighten it out to which ones looked like what.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 4:55 amI'm not sure. Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
From my understanding, talking to the family of who made them and fellow racers of the era/track (Ranch Pit Shop) - this is one of three prototypes made. 2 trucks, 1 buggy. Uses stock trans internals in a completely unique trans case. Parts are very well made. I believe it was eventually offered up as an Earl's kit? Differences are tilted forward motor on the prototypes and straight up motor on the Earl's kits.
One truck is back with the family, one made its way onto ebay (I think), and I saw this one pop up on Facebook a few years back and tried to buy it, seller never responded. Saw it again this weekend, messaged within the first 10 minutes it was listed (sheer luck) and jumped in my truck. Hour and a half later, back at home and super happy I got the only buggy made.
TBH - I've never seen or heard of an Earl's kit.
Pics of the truck that sold and more of the buggy I grabbed. Eventually, there will be a rebuild thread.

Cool ORV mashup. Looks like an original Brat, with a Blackfoot chassis. Might still have the locked diff.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 4:27 pm And it's also buy a motor, get a Monster Frogfoot day. They are crude little beasts, but you can really fall down the rabbit hole with them. I currently have five, in various states.
