AstroFlight Model 205 ESC

Post by Frankentruck »

The AstroFlight Model 205 is a non-BEC speed control that has no power shut-off switch. From initial checkout, observed response times seem significantly more sluggish than other speed controls.

Included paperwork has a speed control design letter from Bob Boucher.

The letter that accompanied the speed controller is very cool. I remember AstroFlight for being big on drag racing and tractor pulling back in the day so it was interesting to see the paperwork discussing boat and plane applications. Not terribly surprising for the controller to be sluggish as Astro was all about power handling as opposed to responsiveness...

...If it were a stereo competition Novak would win the SQ class and Astro would win the SPL class.
