The issue with Aliexpress is sizes and offsets are always questionable and most sellers dont' post proper information.

Ultimately I'd like to just know the offset of every wheel, and it is crazy to me that many manufacturers and vendors don't give this info.
Yeah, has to do with people not agreeing on where to measure from. Is the diameter overall or from the bead seat... Is the inner diameter from the bead seat or from the inner barrel... is offset measured from the back face or hex seat... etc. etc.
Fortunately the first set of images all came from Amazon so, free returns if you don't like the fit.
The JC Racing Egress wheels are 8mm from the front of the wheel to the flat of the hex drive. I think their Kyosho wheels it's around 12-15mm as I know they push Tamiya cars outside the width limit.

Let me preface this by saying I'm sincerely not trying to be snarky...
Amazon and Aliexpress are going to have the largest selection. Searches like "1/10 buggy wheels" ... "12mm hex buggy wheels" or... "Redcat HPI Tamiya HSP Kyosho WLToys Traxxas wheels" will bring up pages of results. Have to remove the supplied tires (some are glued, some aren't) but for $15 a set the tires are basically free. Just a few from the first page:
I bought a set of those wheels & tires years ago, they're all knockoffs meant to fit HSP/Redcat Racing cars. While they are 12mm hex, they are too big a diameter for vintage RC cars and the wheels are all high positive offset. The rears will rub on your shocks or other chassis parts without using spacers. I personally didn't like them and the oversize just doesn't look right on an Optima, for example.

RogueIV wants wheels to fit an Associated B6.4, so it's already running 2.2s and can't use old style Kyosho wheels because they would make the buggy too wide.
Regarding offset, its kind of the opposite. Vintage Kyosho chassis are very narrow so use higher offset wheels to increase their width. Just about every other buggy on the market is wider so needs narrower offset wheels to remain under the legal 250mm max width. I run those HSP 5 spokes on my Tamiya Terra Scorcher when racing as my Kyosho wheels make it too wide.

That's exactly what I was saying. High positive offset has the wheel hubs far out at the outer edge of the rim dishes, while the rim dishes go inwards. These HSP wheels are ALL positive offset, meaning the deep dishes are on the inside, not the outside, which can cause binding issues for some RC cars. If I recall correctly, the HSP wheels are indeed 2.2" but the tires mounted to them are quite a bit bigger diameter than vintage tires. Another issue is the cheap HSP wheels are actually flexible. You can easily bend and squeeze them in your hands.

This is what keeps me from just using Turbo Scorpion wheels on newer buggies, they did work quite well on the RC10 though.

I used to run the Turbo Scorpion wheels on my Ultima and RC10, they look great on everything. Until the Iconic Revival introduced a scrutineering box to check sizes and found it was way over the maximum width rule.
i have a graphite edition rc10 and a gold pan rc10 that im looking to get running and i was wondering what to do for the wheels. i have the originals but they arent in the greatest condition. i would like to run modern wheels for a b4 (or any other...

Thanks for the links. Definitely some good ideas and inspiration in there. I can't wait to get mine looking as god as some of the ones in that first link.
i'm looking for a modern 2wd bashing buggy. something i can enjoy running on the street and in the alley behind my house. something that brings me back to when i first got interested in the mid 80s when i was 14 years old. back then we had the...
Maybe i'm just being too nostalgic but after coming back to the hobby after decades I'm not too impressed the aesthetic evolution of RC buggies. If you stand back and look at how the arrangement of shock towers, the car looks like a 4 poster bed....

I am in agreement, most modern buggy bodies don’t look good. I prefer the vintage rc car bodies like the RC10 Mirage. However, there is one vintage rc car body that I have never liked—the Parma Eagle. It’s so ugly!
I like the new losi 22 5.0 elite it reminds me of my 90’s losi xx cr kinwald as it has a few ques taken from the original. Only thing I don’t race or know any tracks. Would it be silly to use it on a large open grass field with a 8.5 brushless?

Just make sure there is good parts support available.
I know there was a thread somewhere about this but I can not find it. Iam a veteran of racing,20+ years and I still race. I have a dislike for modern buggies and their tight chassis lay outs. I was thinking of grabbing a re release RC10 worlds car...

For my driving style, I have noticed that shorter turnbuckles all around (1 in from longest settings front and rear), wake the car up and it has all the steering and corner speed I want.
Keep in mind Twisted, the more you swap this part for that...
Wrong tyres and some overheating issues but overall it's first race went well.
Ended up on my roof 3 or 4 times :( but still happy with 3rd in the B final.

I'd like mount 2.2 wheels on my Sidewinder but I don't know wheich wheels to buy. It has exactly the same axles as the bobcat/buffalo/boxer. Axles are 4mm I think.
Anyone did that before?
Thanks for any help...

As the title says: why do 1/8 buggies run narrow tires and wheels in the rear?
back in the days you would see 1/10 buggies with wide fronts, but now all have narrow fronts and wide rears. Trucks are wide in the front and back and 1/8 buggies are...

I do prefer the staggered look even on 4wd. At least on full scale cars, a narrower front tire tends to induce understeer.
Agreed on truggies, those things would be voted least likely for shelfer status in 20 years, beating out the RTR Slash.
