Duratrax RC10T and LXT Gas Conversion Ad

Post by Dangeruss »

Never one to leave well enough alone, Duratrax found a way to fuel the desires of early 90's gas truck racers.

One of my all-time favorite ads, the image of engine swapping an RC10T like it was a full size truck was just captivating.

Very cool, thanks. I don't remember that ad specifically but I did have one of the conversion kits for the LXT. I recall it being pretty nicely designed and it went together well but the chain drive seemed a bit janky to me.

I wasn't into nitro at all but I wanted something different to build and sold it without ever running it. The guy who bought it said it ran great.

Funny what some people remember that others don't, isn't it? A lot of aftermarket conversion parts were kinda crude back in the day compared to now. I've got some Duratrax chassis' that look like they were cut with a hand saw so, a janky chain drive sounds about par for the course.
