I modified an old gold pan to use with one of the Injora transmissions. For a basher, I don't have any complaints.discgolfer72 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 12:09 pm well making progress on building one with a diffless transmission lol .at 17$ for the complete trans its pretty tempting even with no diff .
good to know . a bunch of the members on the fb page are screaming "no diff" like its a big deal lol . it will steer like crap but as you said its a basher for my son he is 7 and could care less lol. people forget they used to run old new bright toys as a kid that had 0 suspension, and a straight drive axle lol and loved every secondjuicedcoupe wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 5:18 pmI modified an old gold pan to use with one of the Injora transmissions. Are the print files something you created or freely available online? i searched for just a min but didnt find any type of print file but i know nothing of 3d printing.
The video of the scx10 transmission. it looked like it was a success. Im interested to hear how the 2wdtraxxas transmission works now.
The next time you disassemble the transmission, could you please measure the dimensions of the "no- diff " gear?discgolfer72 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 12:09 pm well making progress on building one with a diffless transmission lol .at 17$ for the complete trans its pretty tempting even with no diff .
someone chimed in on the fakebook page and said you can use the tamiya hbx diff but you have replace the bearings (they have standard dogbone style outdrives). this should be th e gear set for the scx10 gearbox looking at this one it has screws to remove the outdrives im sure its could retrofit a ball diff setupChewbacca wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 5:29 amThe next time you disassemble the transmission, could you please measure the dimensions of the "no- diff " gear?discgolfer72 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 12:09 pm well making progress on building one with a diffless transmission lol .at 17$ for the complete trans its pretty tempting even with no diff .
- width
- diameter
- bearing size
- tooth count
Does anyone know what pitch Axial uses?
Perhaps a fitting diff can be found from a different brand.
Otherwise great work.
That purple / orange setup is screaming for a Joker themed body![]()

Googling "tamiya hbx diff" yields many posts for an HBX clone of the Tamiya TL-01.
ran the snot out of them the day before easter . the only breakage was the printed front plate , on one and only after a full head on crash with a slash
