Getting Back Into RC
Getting Back Into RC
Hello, I'm new to the forum and have been out of RC for a long while and want to get back into it just for street and skate park running. I've got my A stamp RC10 and 5 RC10T's, 3 early and 2 later trucks. I'll be upgrading to lipo's and will use brushed systems, at least for now, as I've got older Tekin and Novak ESC's and various motors to use. I may switch to a brushless system for one of the trucks, though nothing crazy cause I don't want huge crashes I'd inevitably have with too much speed. I am concerned about the original stealth trans with a brushless system. I have a complete t3 trans but since it still has the single slipper I wonder if it's worth trying. I've done some searches here and know the b4 top shaft and slipper is a way to go. But it seems buying a complete b4/t4 trans is the only way I'll get those parts. So if I get a b4 trans would it make sense to install the complete b4 into the 10T chassis and take advantage of the larger diff? Or maybe the t3 trans with a b4 top shaft and slipper. I know the t3 has a larger diff than the stealth, but not as large as a b4. I think I can make the t3 fit into the 10T easier than I could with the b4. So many options and I just don't know enough right now to pick a course forward. I appreciate any feedback.

Welcome! Adapting the T3 or T4 gearbox would take a bit of effort. There's another option that you might want to consider.

Re: Getting Back Into RC
The stock stealth handles brushless without issue. A user here sells carbon fiber slipper pads for the original stealth slipper. Were you thinking about drag racing or 3s+? In those cases a different platform is better suited.
