Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?
These came in a lot I purchased about a year ago. One is the speedworks oval and the other is the speedworks 427. They both seem like they were never used and I was thinking about using one in a build im doing most likely a truck as I am a truck collector. If anyone can share their experience or expertise on them will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Anyone ever used these speedworks motors before?
I've used the 427 motor in a 4wd Turbo Optima. It was a fast enough for me (25+ years ago) but today that looks like a great condition collector's motor. Mine ended with the coming loose from the rest of the armature. I'm not sure how that happened, but it's the only motor I had that ever did that. For a runner using modern batteries, maybe use something still in production that there would be fewer regrets if it got ruined, or a vintage motor that's in more of a runner condition. Just a suggestion.
I've never run the Speedworks oval motor before.

I had the "350". It did well for what it was. They were budget motors.

I have two 427 motors in excellent condition, but yet have to use them. Really considering putting one in my recent Traxxas SRT build (non runner). But I'll test them to see what they put out for rpm and amps.
I agree with Frankentruck, that's a pristine motor and should keep it as a shelf item.
