Kermit is pretty well cleaned up, but now I need to figure out what to do for front wheels.

The rears here are Bandit 2474 pin drive wheels, but the matching Bandit 2475 are also a pin drive wheel. I would prefer the fronts to be the old fashioned bearing in wheel setup. Any thoughts what I might use?

I'm not sure what the original Bandit bearing-in-wheel part number is..but they might be out there somewhere. And I've always thought that some Tamiya wheels might fit but have never confirmed.

Printed some shock bushings and put the shocks on Kermit. Speedy speedy progress.

I can confirm that Tamiya biw rims will work just fine, also Kyosho rims (not sure about the offset) and HPI Super Stars if you can find them.

If you have a drill press and a step drill with 1mm steps, you could take the current bandit wheels and drill the current 5mm hole out to 10mm - don’t go up to 11mm, there’s not enough material for that. You’ll get a nice snug bearing fit, if you drill the last step with a10mm (better 0.3932 inch = 9.978mm reamer) Add two 5x10x4mm FLANGED bearings and presto you’re all set.

Here’s an example of mine:

These are Kyosho Turbo Scorpion (re-re) wheels.

The rears are 12mm hex.

The fronts use an 8mm (or 5/16") OD bearing.

 Ok, I stand corrected, I would have sworn, that Kyoshos are also metric, either 10 or 11mm OD.

Sorry if I mislead anyone.

Some might be, especially newer models.

My post was simply showing those particular wheels as a possible option, not calling anyone out.

I hadn't considered drilling out any front wheels. Interesting idea. Thanks.

I’ve also converted front hex wheels. For those you have to add a 12mm hex with the according hole. Again 10mm in my case, but have also done 3/8 for a Losi Jrx Pro SE. For that conversion I used 12mm bar stock, and a lathe. bÄBut you could just drill out some non clamping hex adapters from Ali Express for example.
