Tamiya Falcon?
Hi All,
So, the Falcon was my first car. Does anyone know if a rerelease of this might happen? I was once told that Tamiya lost many of the molds...
Thanks

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
This got a few people excited last year, but eventually it all faded and nothing has been spoken about it since.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
I've been watching for one of these as well... also my 1st car. I have an NIB in the closet that I've been getting close to tearing open to build either way. If a re-re comes out, I'll be able to stick one on the shelf & run the new one, so fingers crossed...

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
Lost molds is what I have always heard too.. It would be cool to see a rere, but so far it’s just been wishful thinking. My friend has an original that was his first car, so I have been wanting to see a rere happen to be able to get parts to restore his car..but don’t think it’s going to happen.

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
On one of the FB Tamiya groups, someone was having issues with his Super Astute or Avante (I don’t recall which one) about getting replacement parts and lack there off. They had emailed Hobbico and inquired and was told when the Falcon is re-released this fall there will be replacement parts more readily available.

Re: Tamiya Falcon Re-release?
Anyone heard anything at all about a potential re-release, or more realistically, any educated guesses or opinions about how likely it is?
I haven't been following the industry/market in a very long time. I have an NIB I am likely going to be putting on the market - it'd break my heart if I have to do it, but I'd want to do so before a re-release tanks any resale value it may have had. I saw a couple on eBay for sale at inflated prices (>$1k), but also one example of an actual sale at closer to $500. I'm interested to hear what this group thinks about the chances of it happening. Thanks!

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
I seen a broken one on ebay for like $120 a little while back. It needed ~$50 worth of parts (3D) to be complete. Another $50 for a TBG body and MCI decals would have made it nice.
If I hadn't just finished my Blitzer/Bear Hawk/Falcon mashup buggy, I'd probably have bought it.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
This was my first RC as well. Sadley, I had nothing but problems with it but that probably had to do with some defective Futaba electronics. If memory serves me right I started to reach for the fox but was talked out of it by the store clerk. This was easily over 30 years ago

Re: Tamiya Falcon?
I see one on eBay for $900 for sale but of course can't look for kits that have actually sold. I think the re-re is actually going to happen, but after thinking on it some, I think I'm going to keep it. Building & shelving it - don't see much reason to drive it with so much better performing (and tougher) vintage Kyosho models to run... It'd be for the nostalgia, whereas a re-release will probably be tweaked to run today. I've bought one Tamiya model in recent times (Wild One Blockhead) & was so disappointed with the quality that I don't think I'd ever buy one intending to run it. Except maybe for a Big Wig if I caught a deal on one. That thing was super cool.
