1993 IFMAR Worlds - Kinwald's RC10 Team Car

Post by jcwrks »

I had always assumed AE just copied Composite Craft's bellcrank design and modified the post to be on top instead of the bottom for the 6037 Worlds Car. However I never knew it was primarily due to Kinwald using the CC bellcranks at the 1993 IFMAR Worlds. I'm still not sure why the front Wide-Fives were not included in the kit.

I always thought that the Worlds bellcranks looked more like Hogue bellcranks, just cheaper.

Houge was first, and I believe CC copied Houge to an extent. The ball stud area at the end of the CC/AE cranks are smooth whereas Houge is stepped. AE is flat at the end but also got rid of the step before the end of the arm on the CC design.

Yeah, the CC bellcranks are stepped just behind the ballstud area, whereas the AE ones have a transition. So I guess its just, kinda whatever.

I actually bought what was supposed to be Hogue bellcranks on Ebay one time, and Worlds bellcranks are what showed up. It cost the guy more for return shipping than what they were worth (at the time).

There's so much other stuff wrong with the Worlds kit compared to his actual car the tires almost don't matter.
