Re: Traxxas TRX1 NIB + Upgrades build (?)
I could be wrong but I thought Lavigna was trying to determine what the box art tires were.
My reference is to the tires called out in a TRX-1 manual.
I thought the tires were 4 rib, maybe not?

Hey chuck you’re correct the manual states the 4740 fronts but they are a 6 row and that’s what he has. The four row looks to be a losi, here a pic of the 2 sets next to each other
The 6 row traxxas 4740 on the left and losi 4 row on the right, sorry for the thread hijack lavigna

Re: Traxxas TRX1 NIB + Upgrades build (?)
Thanks all! Yes, the Losi tires look like a correct match to the boxart photo. I appreciate the help.
I have a motor coming. It should be a good match to the boxart. I want to get an overhead photo that is as close to the boxart picture as possible.
If anyone has a part number for a pair of black front springs that would match the boxart, please let me know. Thanks!

Thanks to Frankentruck, who told me the boxart was an Air Supply motor, I think I have the right one. I have some red colored brush springs coming, and I will probably remove the 2 small diodes (?) to match the photo.
Getting real close now.

Very cool! I've never seen an actual whole Air Supply motor, only the end bell used by other motor companies.

Re: Traxxas TRX1 NIB + Upgrades build (?)
Well, I think this is about as close as I am going to take it towards replicating the box art photo. The 2 big differences are the drive shafts, and front tires. I did change the front springs out, mounted and wired the motor, added the Tamiya plug, and made some further changes. The manual shows the car setup differently to the box art photos, so I had to choose one to copy.
I will eventually hunt down a pair of narrow Losi front tires. I only have the wide versions, of course. I will probably take another comparison photo once I get matching front tires, but I don't plan on changing the drives to sliders. I love the metal units too much.
I tried to get the wiring as close as possible. The toe in/toe out look of the wheels in my photo compared to the box art is due to the distance the picture was taken. With my light box, I am unable to get the camera far enough away to match the box photo.
Please let me know if you see any other differences I have missed. As usual, the body is still unpainted.

I know this request is a little late since you already installed the motor, but did you happen to take any pictures of the front of the can? I'm really curious what the can looks like on a 100% Air Supply motor. I'm wondering if it's as unique as the endbell.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the front of the motor. If I get a chance to pull it apart, I will send a picture to you.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 9:46 am I know this request is a little late since you already installed the motor, but did you happen to take any pictures of the front of the can?
