Re: Kyosho Javelin Legendary series - 30618
Ran the Javelin today, and broke the front led holder (the garden is in a slope, and the home track is not easy to handle as turns are uphill or downhill, and the result is that the car tend to go off track and fly easily. That makes a good crashtest. Rear led holder is not exposed at all, so it was fine).

What material are you printing the light holder in?
Frankensteined RC10T3 / Franky Jr RC10GT-e (x2) / A+ stamp / Toy Story RC / Graphite replica / B1.5 BFG 5LTi / Clonewald / Hyper Hornet

PETG, to allow some flexibility (PLA would break more easily). The fact is my first print was too thin, and the light bucket I used required to drill a hole for alignement. The drill hole is exactly where the part broke, and I suspect it is linked. I still reinforced the part by adding thickness..

My Javelin is not a shelf queen

I did a full run on the garden track to capture some footage and test successfully the new part. It worked well, but I may need to something to improve it slightly: When crashing, the part move a bit and the car is looking in the sky

Nothing major, as it is easy to put back in place

I will try to mount the video tonight...

Small video taken on my sloppy garden track. Uphill or downhill, turns are always a challenge in this environment, and so far, the Javelin excels at it and is the easier ride by far...

When are you hosting the regional qualifiers? I'd love to have the space for a track like that. Just needs a well placed double jump, a little banking, and...

There is some room we don't use in the garden that is currently a raw area, but it will be flatter. The track on the video is temporary, I'm doing experimentations. I will do something, when time and money permit, but if I want to do banking, bumps and so on, I'll have to wait. that's currently the third try i'm doing, and so far it is the most interesting one... But, yeah, I'm lucky, i'm on the country side and I have a lot of room for a track...

When you like to run a car, and that it's roll cage based, and by essence close to the box art, and you go to vintage events there is fair chance you see few Javelin of the same color... I converted mine to red, and in anycase I'll have the orange roll cage with me... I also replaced the front led lights support (broken too easily on a jump on the track at some point) by some TPU printed ones which should be far more resistant...

Still a a few stickers to add on top of this... I love red cars
