Sassy build

Post by jcwrks »

Sassy Chassis ad's were plentiful in RCCA starting in 1990. I figured that I would try to source a standard RC10 chassis as the base for an all new hopped up build. There are only a couple of AE factory pieces such as the tranny brace, ball cups, shock bushings, and assorted hardware. I am not going to drill holes for the Trackers and will most likely just remove the rear suspension mounts. I need to source a new RPM team car rear bulkhead so that I don't have to use the AE one. The Litesink will be appropriate since the rear of the chassis is flat and lacks the motor guard. I have all of the period correct electronics, body, wing, and wheels/tires but didn't include pics for those just yet. This could eventually be a BOTM entry once it gets finished. Sadly I tend to drag my feet on builds.

Sometimes I feel like the hunt for nip parts is just as exciting as the actual build. I also get a sense of enjoyment from opening those 30+ year old packages for the first time. The Trinity shocks came in a recent lost that I picked up that had quite a few new parts. I'll most likely pull the TPS Chain trans out of the mix so that I can use a hopped up 6 gear trans. I have a RC10 Hyperdrive kit with extended motor plate that would be ideal for a flat chassis.
