Used a fresh set of Schumacher full spike yellow and removed the spikes for carpet racing. Would really recommend the Schumacher tires for the original Fox wheels - for the US still available from amain hobbies – perfect fit for the Fox wheels.
Second picture from outdoor race on astro turf where 2.2 wheels were allowed. You can also get golden 2.2 Fox wheels from jcracing.
So cool...a "Red Fox" in competition....doesn't get any better than that

I wish we ran a vintage class around my area, I have a handful of vintage Tamiyas I could run but this would be on a different level!

This thread reminds me of the Fox my younger brother had. After suffering his second Tamiya chassis failure I talked him into ordering the basic Hot Trick Fox kit. I think I had some of their parts on my frog at that point. The HT chassis proved indestructible but the original fox body was a terrible fit. He was out of paper route money at that point and just went with his bashed up original body, which looked rough on the new chassis. He did not care because his Fox way outperformed all the other Tamiya cars in the neighborhood at that point. A year later a buddy of ours upgraded to an RC10 gold pan, and at that point I realized that all Hot Trick was doing with these Tamiya upgrade kits was trying to turn them into an RC10 or a Yokomo.
