RC10T Team truck shock caps
Im trying to piece together an original team truck and had a question about the shock caps. Did the team truck always come with shock caps or were they always aluminum? I saw that the some of the aport trucks has plastic caps but wasnt sure if that was just the sport trucks.

Re: RC10T Team truck shock caps
Both of my Team Trucks have aluminum caps, but they are from earlier versions.
I have some Hard Anodized Team shocks that I purchased directly from AE, which came with nylon caps.

Re: RC10T Team truck shock caps
The 10t team trucks were hard anodized bodies and black aluminum caps and the sport truck was gold bodies and black aluminum caps.

Re: RC10T Team truck shock caps
The t2 manual was still showing the aluminum shock caps for hard anodized shocks and plastic for the gold sport shocks.
The t3 manual shows only plastic caps for both gold and team shocks.
It seems unlikely it that the 10t would have had plastic caps on team shocks.

Re: RC10T Team truck shock caps
A late all black 7011 (sport) or 7035 with T2 parts could have had plastic shock caps as a running production change. A white parts 7035 should have aluminum caps.

Thanks that what I was curious about because some of the sport trucks had plastic. Then I have a C stamp sports truck and it has aluminum caps.

Re: RC10T Team truck shock caps
The 7011 manual shows plastic, but as we know AE used what they had available. I will check my nib late all black 7011 kit when I get home. I have a feeling they are plastic.

That is why I don't get overly concerned with "correctness".
If they weren't concerned about it, why should I be?

Hey Marlo!! Glad to see you here again!
Yeah I know I'm not the full purist either. Running changes means flexibility. Of course if you are mixing obviously different era together, that's kind of faux paus.

Nib 7011 kit, sealed parts bag, with white plastics and black aluminum shock caps. It has a Reedy Outlaw stock motor as well.
