Customs Delay?

Post by limestang »

Any experience on how long Us customs is currently taking? I have an item shipped from Canada, and it’s been sitting in Customs since 3/28/23. I contacted the postal Service, and they couldn’t provide any other info.

Thanks

Within the past week, I had an item from Finland clear through LA customs in a day. It was shipped through DHL Global / USPS.

An item from Canada sitting in customs for five weeks sounds like it is lost to me.

Edit: please note my package took three total days from being accepted in Finland, to being in the USA. It has now been in US for six days, and hasn't made it to me.

I couple of months ago I had a few vintage motors shipped via standard USPS (not priority) from CN to TX, and it took 1 week to arrive. Call USPS to start a lost pkg claim.

I've had similar delays with international packages this year.

At my work, we get lots of international shipments. Customs clearance time has been a total crap shoot for us since COVID hit.

For whatever reason, packages from Canada seem to take longer than any other.

While packages from Great Britain seem to zip right through.

I get orders from TTP and JC Racing pretty quick (considering the distance, etc). I don't think my last order even took a week (I clearly remember being surprised).

My orders that ship from Amain's California warehouse do seem to always get delayed. Packages from the North Carolina warehouse usually arrive early.

The last package I got from England arrived in less than 48 hours. I don't know how that was possible. It still baffles me to this day.
