Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Did a little work on an ORV (Brat, hopefully) project.
Painted the transmission side plates and assembled it with a new housing. Also added an AmPro skid plate.
The Frog diff is assembled with re-re outdrives and the "Old Frogshot" mod. The idle gear is also shimmed to reduce slop.
Also finished sorting out the shocks for the same project. They are Duratrax short shocks, built with Traxxas X rings. Traxxas shock bushings and longer rod ends. Tamiya springs and Associated cups.
They may not be Kyosho Golds but they are still buttery smooth.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Built a LS-II and a SRT.
The LS-II was an LS, I had the parts to convert it. It also has Losi Shocks because I had them. I have some tires, but I need to get them off the old wheels.
The SRT was from Scratch. Most parts are available to build an SRT. I will run this one, Probably with some Proline Trencher tires.
FYI - the MIP #08106 CVD's will work on the SRT. Need the Shock spacers, and only the set screw.

Love to build......need to practice painting

Traxxas - Rad2, TCP, Stampede, Villain IV
Tamiya - CLODBUSTER
As you can see....I sold most of my cars. Funding Pinball now.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Got tired of looking at this Frog (hopefully to be a Brat-ish) laying around in pieces.
I had already painted the chassis in gunmetal, which should pair well with carbon fiber and polished aluminum trim.
Also installed the AmPro center servo mounts and a Hobbico low profile servo.

The chassis looks great in that color - much less toy-like.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:05 am Got tired of looking at this Frog (hopefully to be a Brat-ish) laying around in pieces.

If you're not already planning to do so, maybe you could post a build thread in the appropriate forum. I have a Tamiya Brat NIB and I'm always looking for inspiration. I really don't want to go with boxart for that car.

Sweet builds. Would you happen to know if the LS front arms, arm bulkhead and bumper are available in white anywhere?Supernaut wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 7:33 pm Built a LS-II and a SRT.

Ebay, I have searched the globe for parts and sadly ebay is the only place to find some stuff.R6cowboy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 1:32 pmSweet builds. Sometimes need to buy whole cars to get some of the parts.

I'll put something together when I get a chance.XLR8 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:52 am The chassis looks great in that color - much less toy-like.

Getting the Brat body and decals has been somewhat of an ordeal. I'm still hopeful that it works out.
But my basic plan is something between a Brat and a Mud Blaster. I'm thinking that Stadium Blitzer (lightly chearanced) wheels and tires should be about right.
For the front, I'm going to keep the Brat/Frog spring arrangement but use Blackfoot caster blocks and uprights. I was going to use the CRP adapter nuts with Frog uprights, but my originals are severely worn and the re-re's are known for separating. Since I already had half of the Blackfoot parts, the decision was easy.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

I had a wildone a while back with the chassis painted that color and the roll cage was painted blue.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:05 am Got tired of looking at this Frog (hopefully to be a Brat-ish) laying around in pieces.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Not all today, but I've been fiddling with this ORV a bit.
The rear tires, shock mounts, and steering rods are all place holders, until I get what I want.
I did the front with a mixture of Frog and Blackfoot parts. I got some Duratrax shocks in the rear, with bigger Tower Hobbies springs and Frankentruck plastics.
