In all seriousness, I did have a set of these for a little while.... here's a few scans:
Quite a valuable item, if you can find them.... a bit like PB Mini Mustangs, Parma Hemi V8 engine kits, or NIB Tekin chassis kits - if you can find them, you can sell them 10 times over.Osiris is the key.

These cards are awesome..I never knew they existed.

I used to race at American-Trac 1991-92. It was in Mattoon, IL amongst the farm fields and the hobby shop was in the basement of their house. They had a great off-road track too. Wonder what ever happened to them..

Although I never to raced there, I remember that track very well. I was living south of Springfield at the time so Mattoon was close. My racer buds told me about the track and how much fun they had and I even bought a set of capped tires for my 10L but for whatever reason, I just never made the trip. I still have the tires NIB.BattleTrak wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 7:26 am These cards are awesome..I never knew they existed.

One of the guys made a VHS recording of one race event and I have a copy of that tape. A while back, I tried to find the track (or whatever remains) using Google earth's satellite images but wasn't successful. I heard that the track heaved during the winter freeze and became unusable. Is that accurate?

I just quickly looked at the satellite imagery as well, and couldn't find anything either. It's likely been gone too long for there to be any discernible remnants left. A Google search turned up a PO Box address via the archived R/C Car Action editions.
Ameri-Trac. RR 3, Box 242; Mattoon, IL 61938
Ben or Judy Giles, (217) 235-6873
I also found the following information from another site:
A scale race facility for R/C cars in Mattoon, Illinois.
When profiled in 1992 there were two tracks. One is a 400 foot (measured at centerline) long by 16 foot wide tri-oval with turns banked at 12, 10, and 8 degrees. The other track is a 415-foot oval dirt track.
Owned by Larry Annis.
Awards and acknowledgements include:
Track of the Month in the September 1992 issue of Radio Control Model Cars.

Re: master of rc auto racing 155 card set 1992
Upon further detective work, I think I found the address!!
8567 E County Rd 550 N, Mattoon, IL 61938
People with the same last name as the original owner are still attached to the location. Using Google Maps, there's what could possibly be an extremely faint outline of a tri-oval in the field behind the house. It doesn't show up on any other map I could find. The distinct depression in the center of the track does though!

Great detective work! Thanks! ..don't know how you found the address..I've looked many times. That is definitely the place, I went through my VHS tape of racing footage and the house and trees are all correct. The brown trail through the yard was the driveway for the pits. Just to the right of that was where the speedway was..theres a house there now.Lowgear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 1:08 am Upon further detective work, I think I found the address!!
