While waiting on parts I decided to refurbish a Novak HPc ESC.
Birchwood Casey aluminum black is really helpful when tidying up the cooling flanges.
The Novus 7136 plastic polish kit does the trick on the housing, a light rub with alcohol on the wires along with a new plus wire and we’re all set.
I have never had much luck with my Novus system for some reason. Maybe just the wrong plastics, or needing more work prior to polishing. I will give it a try on my next Novak refresh. Thanks!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.
I recently aquired a Novak 410-HPC. It looks as if the Red, blue and black wires were replaced. Can anyone tell me what gauge wire the HPC came with? Were each of the wires the same gauge?
Evening all! I was lucky enough to score what looks to be a good working condition Novak 410-HPc esc last night! Been looking for one for a while as a backup to an excellent condition 410-M1c I scored from a great guy/seller a few months back. Photo...

The JR plug will plug into a Futaba J slot. The white wire goes to the side with the tap.
Just be sure that it isn't pinned for the early Airtronics plug.
Hi,
I decided to resurrect my old zxr mk2. When I switch it on the light on the speed controller is solid red. The servo works fine but the motor respond to the transmitter.
The manual says to move the receiver cable to another socket. When I try...

Yes, servo reversing switch reverses the function. So try flicking the Ch. 2 switch on the remote.
If the trigger was 50/50 then reversing then the esc would operate normally just backwards, a 70/30 trigger would run on like you described.
I picked these up last week to experiment with. They didn't really cost much at all and they work
I can program the Cyclone with my own custom parameters or use one of the 20 saved Novak sets to use as profile 4 on the Cyclone. Too bad I...

Wait, you have a computer with a serial port and diskette drive?
I'm a Mac guy in all honesty, but yes I do. I found it in the garbage and put XP on it  I use it mainly for the old school Toyota Electronic Parts Catalog Software...
I have a decent pile of well used vehicles that I mostly pick up to use as part donors. Sometimes in these lots I find one that isn't all that bad, but will never be shelf quality, at least not without replacing a lot of the parts. So I strip them...

I don't know any specifics on the tires. As much of my gear, they came to me in a large lot of items. New, but not in a package of any kind to help id them.
Gotcha, I was just curious as I loved the TRC capped tires back in the day. Quick Google...
Picked this up off of ebay, wanted another project car (already did a B2 for 17.5 racing). Going to leave this one a little more stock (no big bores). Still not sure if I want to go with a brushless setup or dust off the old Novak Tempest that I had...
I have a vintage XXT it was my second build and got it there at the Ranch Pit in Pomona back in the day- I am trying to get it back on the road- I have a Radiolink RC4GS, a hobbywing 1060 esc and a generic amazon type servo. My tires are pretty much...
