RC10 Graphite Tub Build
It has been some years since I have posted. I sold most of my cars and custom builds some years ago.....of course I regret selling some of it. Only stuff I have left is in my signature.
I joined Facebook only because it seems like many people moved over to there. Seems to be good information and heads up on new products.
I have some parts on order that should be here in March.
It looks like some parts may be difficult to find, so I am posting to see if anyone can give me some help. I think I found most parts to do a build.
Carbon Fiber Tub Chassis and Nose Plates - Ordered (Franky Yeung) Hopefully Legit
Shock Towers, FW Transmission, Chassis Brace - Factory Works? I hear the website should be updated soon.
Arms, Caster Blocks, Bulkhead other misc - JC Racing, or Dynotech Arms
Top Shaft, Gear Cover, Bearings - Avid RC
Tie Rods - JConcepts, Klinik RC
Transmission Housing - Shapeways, Other??
Transmission - Motor Mount, Diff and Center Gear??
Nose Tubes?
Rear End Notes: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=45170
I ended up using CW rear hubs and B44 CVD's. I did not like the option linked above.

J-concepts makes a few of the parts that are on your list.Supernaut wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 9:52 am It has been some years since I have posted. I sold most of my cars and custom builds some years ago.....of course I regret selling some of it. Only stuff I have left is in my signature.

Nose Tubes?
Any tips would be great for parts. Can't wit to get this thing started.
Not sure why I cant add pictures.....
The nose tubes, wing tubes and motor mount are available from j-concepts.
As well if you are going for the dynotech-klein front arms you need the truck width nose plate and arm mount.
The klein rear arms require the rpm worlds rear arm mounts.
I'm not an expert on this, but I have made a few of my own CF tubs for the shelf and runners.
Carbon fiber, specifically for the rc10 design isn't a good material for a runner. The design has too little shoulder space between the arm mounts and the outside edge of the chassis. It creates a weak point. It's not a deal breaker, but it should be noted that a lot of CF vintage chassis have issues in that area.
If this is for the shelf you can ignore this. If you are going to run this a few times then shelf it it won't be an issue. I got around this issue by making my carbon fiber chassis thicker for runners. Making sure that you have properly, not over or under torqued, suspension mounts will help with longevity.
If this is a runner I recommend an aluminum front plate. The rc10 is already a rear balanced car. The CF chassis should be significantly lighter than the metal tub making the weight distribution even more rear balanced the motor and trans transmission make up more of the weight proportionally. The metal nose balances that out more. You could use weights otherwise.
I see that the tubs in the picture are un-drilled. I had quite a steep learning curve properly drilling the holes in the chassis I made. If you have machining experience you will be fine. Otherwise I would recommend getting a few scraps of material to practice making all of your holes are exact. Aligning the holes from front to back is critical for suspension alignment. There is little tolerance in drilling the holes for the mounted plastic components, bulkhead, arm mounts and transmission case.
If you take the time to clear coat then polish the carbon fiber it can look absolutely beautiful. It easy enough, though time consuming but it will be a next level look.

Re: RC10 Graphite Tub Build
Thanks for the feedback. I will order a bunch of stuff from JConcepts. The Motor Mount is not available.
I think I can get some Motor plates made up.
The picture of the chassis are of prototypes. The completed will have holes in them. I am also getting a truck nose plate.
I can make the chassis stronger with a skid plate. I will not run this one much, just had the itch to build one.
Chassis were ordered from Facebook. Look in the "RC10 Vintage Mania" Section.
I made a WOIN a long time ago. Are there any updates since that should be done?

Good to know. Looks like he has some connections for manufacturing.
He already track tested the new chassis.

Re: RC10 Graphite Tub Build
How exactly is someone this far along with making a carbon tub and noseplate for an RC10 and this is the first time it’s been mentioned or shown on RC10Talk……

Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.
Hey Cru ! Go balls out

If that's what it takes, I guess I won't be getting one.
