Futaba servo on RC10 GTC build

Post by motoromo »

The graphite team car I’m semi-restoring has a Futaba s131sh. Very little info about it or dead links. The forum has a few posts but mostly equipment lists.

from what I know so far:
1. It’s a good servo for the era
2. Matches the timeframe of the car

Any reason to change to another servo?

Unless you are planning on racing it, no. The 131 and 132 are my preferred servos for RC10's.

I can check off that off my list. Nope, not going to race. It’ll be a semi shelf queen with fun runs here and there.

Are they pretty tough units? Do they need rebuilding?

They were popular in their day. Like most Futaba stuff, they are made well.

As long as it operates smoothly, I'd use it. If it's sticky, clean the gears and re-grease it.
