Great day yesterday to get out and visit a couple of my favorite mechanical marvels in Richmond, and they both exist within a couple hundred foot of each other! First is a bascule train bridge with overhead counterweight. This thing is literally about a foot over the Kanawha Canal. The track is still used, but the lifting mech is out of service as the canal isn't used, at least at this point. This thing is located in a very busy public park, and I don't think 95% of the visitors even really notice it. I am the complete geek standing there with my jaw dropped at how awesome this is! :D

Took the dogs on a more scenic walk than our usual. So lucky to live close to this beautiful canyon.

His full name is Lucifer as my daughter is into the TV series (very good) and in the show his brother calls him Lucy

Though I didn't get to Max Yasgur's I did go to the Ozark Music Festival Jul 19, 1974 – Jul 21, 1974.
A smaller event, only 170,000 or so attended, but seemed much larger.
5 days of debauchery, a festival that I will never forget.

I live near woking and the Woking where McLaren are based and build their cars so it's not a rare sight for me , I used to go to church with Clair and Adam Tyrrell , niece and nephew of Ken Terrell of Tyrrell F1 racing team , I remember visiting the factory just near Leatherhead when I was only 7 or 8 years old , seemed a normal thing at the time .
