Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck rebuild (Team version)
This is my Pro-XRT project I started last May of 2021. It was in a little rough shape and missing a few parts when I got it. I disassembled the truck shortly after getting it, then placed in a tote until a couple weeks ago. Plans are to replace necessary & missing parts (already done) and make it a light runner but mostly be a shelf queen that's a little rough around the edges. Because I'm not making it look brand new, it's still going to show some signs of having a past but look good while doing so.
Pics of disassembly last year in May. Pictured are a couple replacement parts the truck came with, along with some parts I found right away when I first bought the truck.

I'm looking forward to this build. I'm a big fan of the Pro series. Should look great!

Re: Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck rebuild
Few other parts I got for this deal. Brand new XRT wheels with the clear caps & screws. Blue 86T spur gear. Blue anodized shock caps. Using Losi 4.8mm ball studs (6mm & 8mm long) and Associated 4.8mm ball cups, because I already have them and I couldn't find replacement 4.5mm ball cups & studs that the original XRT came with. I prefer the 4.8mm anyway. The original team version aluminum tie rods are in great condition so they are being reused.

Coincidently came across a stainless steel RCscrewz hardware kit so picked that up. And a shocks parts tree because I had a broken plastic shock cap.

First on the agenda was to try and whiten some parts. Soaked in 3% peroxide in direct sunlight for the day. Definitely helped. Then soaked all plastic and nylon parts in water for a few days for a lil rehydration.

Re: Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck rebuild (Team version)
Next up after cleaning and whitening all parts, was to glue both broken chassis tabs for the front top chassis plate. Both tabs were broken off cleanly and were still bolted to the broken top chassis plate. "Loctite Plastics Bonder" was used to glue the tabs back the the chassis tub. I used two short pieces of antenna tube to hold the broken tabs perfectly straight while initially setting them to the chassis. The antenna tubing fit snug into the bolt holes and worked perfect. This stuff seemed to work extremely well, I tried quite hard to pull the tabs off after waiting more than a full day for curing.

Shocks rebuilt with stock springs and Associated 32.5wt (388cst) shock oil. Really like the look of the blue shock caps over the original black units.

SST transmission put back together. I was fully expecting the typical slight binding issue these are notoriously known for, but it's buttery smooth. Feeling lucky....? Nope not really, more like that worried feeling that I'm just waiting for something bad to happen when I put power to it.

Yeah they are, I thought the same and worried how easily they'd break. But I guess they're made of nylon and possibly would have a good amount of flex or stretch before breaking. Not real sure and I certainly don't want to find out, especially since I don't have spares

Thanks

Front end together and Futaba S3004 servo mounted. Had to drill out all ball stud holes to fit the new 3mm threaded studs in lieu of the original 2.6mm threaded studs.

Had to shave off a tid bit from underneath of the top chassis brace for clearance of the nylon locking nut on the backside of the servo saver ball stud.
