Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
I decided to figure out a way to mount my servo securely w/o the old standard of servo tape and shoe-goo and without making holes in the chassis. I had some 1/8" ABS plastic laying around and decided to use that as one side of the servo mount. Since I'm using the Losi bumper that goes under the bulkhead I had to space up the steering posts anyway I used those to secure it. I'm still waiting on my countersink bits but one they are here I'll use them for a hole in the ABS mount and a hole in the lipo battery mount. It's tight but it will work

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
Since I'll be racing on carpet I decided to try installing a front wing to see what it would do. Just happen to have a scrap pro se front shock tower so I cut the top shock mounts off. Turned out the center mounting holes of my j concepts front wing aligned perfectly. So we'll give this a go next Sunday.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
Ready for some weekend action!
Didn't feel like dealing with losing my wing during a run so used a TLR 22 front wing mount to secure it.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
So first pack out this happened, doh! I have extra links but no shock ends so swapped to H arms then JRX-Pro SE front arms. Car felt a whole lot better but I don't think I want to risk my JRX2 on carpet right now, especially considering how rusty I am. Thinking about restoring it to pretty much box stock. However, I also picked up a JRX-Pro and Pro SE, both in various states of disrepair, for extra parts. So, I'm going to build up another JRX car as a runner til I get my hands on a 22 5.0. Stay tuned

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
the 5 link is defintely more suited to rough choppy offroad surfaces, so I can see the H arms being more predictable on carpet. sucks you broke that mount. it's a shame its such a unique thing, I've made aluminum ones in the past for my brothers car.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
Oh yeah, I knew I'd be switching to H arms at some point but I had hoped to get a little more time with the 5 link. A local TLR driver is also putting together a JRX2 and he's going to give me a rear shock end, thankfully. I'd still like to find another pair in case I decide to use the 5 link again, preferably on a bumpy, low grip dirt track.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
Buy some 3d printed lower shock mounts from Sabula tech or shapeways. Then you can run without fear of breaking them, they are stronger than stock and readily available. Eventually for carpet though H-arm is probably better but I totally get the fun of running a 5 link.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
these are available:
https://www.shapeways.com/product/EEYTAZZ6Y/losi-jrx2-and-jrxt-lower-shock-mount?optionId=65007989&li=marketplace
https://www.shapeways.com/product/DULYY7WLF/team-losi-jrx-2-a-5000-rear-lower-shock-mount?optionId=240524179&li=marketplace
I know I saw ones that were closed on the bottom, like a loop, but I am not finding them. Sabulatech will have lots of losi parts, maybe thats where I saw them. The shop is closed right now due to a new baby in his family.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
Welp, decided to build up a JRX Pro SE to run on carpet with some parts from my JRX2 and will build the JRX2 box stock with the exception of a few goodies. To add to the fun I'm going to follow the instruction manual I have downloaded. Should be a good time

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
do you have access to a 3-d printer? I have a few different designs uploaded for no-drill servo mounts with and without integrated battery holder.

I don't know anyone with a 3D printer but those are pretty sweet. Kinda wish I did now lol

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
The stock shocks were in pretty sad shape and I ended up swapping out the rear shafts since one had a pretty bad groove in it. The bodies cleaned up pretty well, not perfect but much better than what I started with. Still need a few pieces to get where I want but I'm happy with the progress.

Re: My JRX2 restore/race build
I have a B&R stocker that's more period correct but...it's not a Losi
Would love a Losi Super Stock but a Super Insane will do the trick.
