Hi guys. I was cleaning up in my attic the other day and found my old RCs which I had not touched in like 25+ years. Now I have the itch to get back into them.
By far my favorite was the YZ10:
I bought a modern charge for it to see if it even still ran - it does! The old sanyos were shot so I replaced them with a set of Tenergy NiMH. Works great. I also upgraded the servo for something a little faster and more torque.
But the one thing that has me a little puzzled is the main gear:
It does not match any of the manual or photos I have seen for the original run of the YZ10 or 870C. They all have White gears with the option to switch with a clutch or direct drive bearing. The gear I have seems like I may have swapped it out at some point? For the life of me, I cant remember any of the details of it. Can anyone confirm that or identify what kind of setup it may be?
Trying to see if I can get the original parts off ebay. No luck with the clutched bearing which is what I really want.
Thanks!
Ernie

Re: Trying to identify YZ10 Main Gear
It looks like you have an adapter to allow you to use a standard spur gear (Kimbrough, Robinson, etc spur gear). I recall my friend having an adapter for his YZ10 many years ago. Very nice car.

Thanks for the reply. Ya, thats what I was suspecting. Especially when I realized the diff balls do absolutely nothing. I must have pulled it off another car.
Will have to try and locate the original as I would really like to try the clutched setup.
Thanks again.
