I found, after polishing raw aluminum, undiluted Simple Green in my parts cleaner @ boiling temperatures, will stain/discolor aluminum.
Probably both time and temperature played a part.
When warmed to more normal temperatures no staining.

I've not tried Simple Green Pro HD (purple color) it may be quite different.

Just a thought...

It is.

I originally got my ultrasonic cleaner for outboard motor carburetors.

I did a fair amount of research before putting $1000 worth of parts in it. The Pro HD was highly recommended by several shops. They also said to avoid regular Simple Green, as it will definitely discolor aluminum.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

They may not be perfect specimens but since I know it’s been mentioned before and it is something of a rare opportunity to do so, I figured I’d take some side by side photos to display their similarities and differences shape wise.

Thats it. I've been using the same gallon jug for a couple years.
