Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
I am restoring my flat chassis GT and decided to go with the front end parts from the B4.2 so I can use hex adapters . I ordered RPM wheels for the electric Rustler and combined with the hex adapters from the B4 on the rear , there was barely axle threads to put nut on. The hex from the b4 has a extended lip on it. I ground it down flat and the wheels fit better and look like they should work out. I dont have front wheels yet. What wheels should I be looking for? Thank you
Re: Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
I should add the rear axles are cvd type ....MIP I assume. Came on truck.

Re: Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
So I am going to hijack a years old thread. I have my rc10T converted to hex in the rear and I am considering hex in the front as well. The rc10 t4/5/6 wheel fit just great. However all of the current stadium truck wheel look identical and boring.bigmd wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2017 1:01 pm I am restoring my flat chassis GT and decided to go with the front end parts from the B4.2 so I can use hex adapters . I noticed that there are 2.2" stadium truck wheel for traxxas available that have some style to them for just a few $$

I see that the front and rear are listed seperate, I am assuming because of different offsets. Does anyone know what wheels would fit similar enough to the stock ones. If I am a few MM wider or narrower I don't mind. I just want to be able to use standard tires and add some style without having to drop $40 on a 2 pairs of vintage RPM wheels.

Re: Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
The rear offset is a little narrower than factory and the front offset is a little wider than factory.
Things get close when using the rear offset. Everything cleared on the truck I had but that may change depending on what parts you used to convert to hex.

So it sounds like either set would be fine, but the front offset would clear everything without trouble.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 6:06 pm The rear offset is a little narrower than factory and the front offset is a little wider than factory.

I used the b4.2 front to convert the front hex, leaving it a bit narrow and the rc10T4.2 hex blocks on MIP cvd's on the rear.

Re: Rc10GT axle and 12mm hex conversion
This truck uses Traxxas Nitro Rustler rear wheels, which have the same offset as electric front wheels. It has plenty of clearance everywhere.JosephS wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 9:24 pmSo it sounds like either set would be fine, but the front offset would clear everything without trouble.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 6:06 pm The rear offset is a little narrower than factory and the front offset is a little wider than factory.
