Finally got myself a gold pan

Post by CrazyRC »

I always wanted one, but by the time I could afford one, I couldn't. Picked this up in a box of RC stuff off Craigslist. There's a re release Tamiya Frog and an Axial Scorpion included, along with bags and boxes of parts to go through still. This is all the Associated stuff I could identify first time going through it all.

There's 2 unpainted (but roughly cut) bodies, an unpainted driver, Tekin Rebel 2 speed control, the Associated MSC, Futaba transmitter and receiver. A few bags of parts that look like they've never been installed. On my first look over, all that I can really see that's bad is the roached nose tube and rotted tires. The tub doesn't look tweaked, though, so maybe it was repaired? Some kid (actually, I know who, because I have the original purchase receipt) loved this thing and took reasonably good care of it.

I don't know what my plans are with it yet, once I get it cleaned up, and can actually get a good look at it, there will be more clarity.

Thanks to the 25 years of RC10 thread, I think it's a mid to late Edinger. Everything has the Edinger address (Box, manual, newsletter, etc), but would love it if I could get confirmation from the gurus on here.

That's a very nice find, congratulations!

If it were mine, I'd completely rebuild it, install bearings (if not already installed), rehydrate the nylon, install a good chassis protector and run it - carefully.
