Is the XXXT a Losi Problem Child?

Post by morrisey0 »

Hello Losi People!! :D

The full extent of my Losi knowledge is that I currently possess a Losi Mini Desert Racer and a Losi XXXT. That is it! I know nothing of how they are built, how they have survived, how they drive, etc etc etc.

To take that further, my only knowledge of older 1:10 stadium trucks is RC10 T4s and T2, which have now become my most favorite RC vehicles to drive for just all around fun.

So, I picked up a lot of three cars two weeks ago; a RC10 gold pan, a very old version of a Rustler, and a Losi XXX. I picked them all up for about what a gold pan is going for these days, so figured what I could get back for the Rustler and XXXT would just be bonus cash. I sold off the Rustler roller quick, and then put the XXX out there for probably what Mike Brewer would refer to as a "cheeky" price. No response. Lower price, no love. Lower more, crickets.

So, now I am down to about the price that I would pay for this rig in a heartbeat if it were a RC10T4. Solid rig, no issues, upgrades installed and plenty of extra parts. I am now convinced that I should just keep the thing and have some fun with it ................. but it bothers me that I have not gotten any feedback on this truck. Not even the "Would you take $80 for it?" guy. I mean nothing! It is like it isn't even listed.

So, Losi peeps, is there a problem with this truck in general? Do people hate them? Do they fall apart? I know the guy I got it from won it as a prize for racing his RC10 B1, but he seemed to love it some because he put money into it, and even raced it. I am convinced I should keep this rig and make it the best it can be ........................ but again, the no responses at all bothers me and makes me think this thing is just a POS and there is no reason at all to put any effort into it.

Is the XXX a POS? Honestly, one Losi peep tell me to keep this, and it is done. Thanks!

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

I'm no Losi peep my any stretch of the imagination, but that is one rad looking stadium truck. I dig it, and have it added to the list of RC's I'd like to add to the collection.

Speaking of POS stadium trucks (not meaning the XXXT is), my most recent addition was a Kyosho Pro-XRT. Only picked it up because I bought a pack of two Futaba FXT's from a guy and afterwards he offered a Pro-XRT at a pretty low price, that and it's old (1994) and rare. But I had no idea how much of a flop that truck was back in the '90s, until I did some research after I bought it. But it's all good, I still like it. It'll just never be one of my favs.

Not a bad truck at all. Losi made/makes a great product. If you want to sell off the losi lot, I would be interested in what you want for it.

The Losi XXX series is a great and very capable platform. However their relatively early age means they are not quite considered vintage to many people, and therefore not as many people looking for them as compared to JRX or XX series. That is just my 2 cents.

Have to agree, since the XXXT was released in '00 or '01 via a quick search, would have to assume folks in the vintage market would more likely have higher interest for '80s and '90s stuff. On the other hand, it won't be too long until early '00s stuff will becoming more "vintage". One thing I like about this truck is that it has a '90s look.
