Sorry to hear that, mate... have you thought of moving to Australia? Long flight, but good beer, weird people, killer animals, and a licence to scam Canadians online.....

   :P

Is that “killer” animals or “killer animals”? I suppose it could be both, but clarity is important when you go to pet a koala and it tears your arm off

It works now! That was an oops on my part. I changed some settings last night in the hopes it would fix the automation problem. It didn't, and I neglected to revert them back to default.

Great job, Lowgear! The downtime was minimal and everything seems to be working great. I just made another donation to show appreciation for this great site. 🤘🏻

The 'Thanks' feature has been updated to work with the new board version but when enabled, it causes everything to crash. I believe it has something to do with the retention of all the old 'Thanks' that have been given and received. If I delete that data, and we start from scratch again, the mod should work. I'm trying to get it to work though without having to do that.

Now in other news, tomorrow the 5th is the day our hosting company is scheduled to update the OS of the server. The site will at least be down for around two hours while it's preformed. Then I don't know what's going to happen after that. It depends on if anything gets messed up in the process. I believe the IP address is changing as well which requires me to update that information with the domain name registrar. I have to wait for them to give me the new IP address before I can do that. They also sent me a link with a bunch of stuff I have to do on my end before the update even happens as well. Conceivably, the site can be down for a long time depending on how bad things go.

In preparation, I've backed everything up besides all the attachments. The folder they reside in on the server has grown too large to be downloaded normally like the rest. I went back-and-forth with support over it for 3 days to try and figure out a solution but nothing of any real substance came of it. I really hope we don't lose it! It's really ridiculous that there's no simple way to back up something like that.

Well 2:00 came and I disabled the board in preparation of the server update. An hour later I noticed nothing was happening. I contacted support as no work was being performed. Left the board offline another 3 hours just in case, and still nothing. Not even a response from support. So it's back open again. To say I'm a bit peeved would be an understatement. :x

It's quite aggravating. Especially when I took all the time to prepare. Also, I had an especially bad day and that was the icing on the cake. The good news is I now have time to look into getting the 'Thanks' mod working again. :)
