Re: Some losi parts variations
Have You ever wondered what are those "strange" color and/or looking springs that Team Losi drivers did use late ProSE era -> early XX era like this:

* = Springs from Team Losi special spring box
Front springs 2":
Color: Rate:
orange #: 2.9
silver #: 3.2
green #: 3.5
white *: 3.5
orange *: 3.7
blue #: 3.8
dark blue *: 3.9
green *: 4.1
bronze-coopper *: 4.3
yellow *: 4.5
pink *: 4.7
light blue *: 4.9
gold *: 5.1
red *: 5.3
black *: 5.5
Rear springs 2.5":
Color: Rate:
yellow *: 1.8
orange *: 2.0
bronze-coopper *: 2.2
pink #: 2.3
red #: 2.6
dark blue *: 2.6
orange #: 2.9
gold *: 3.0
silver #: 3.4
pink *: 3.4
light blue *: 3.65
green #: 3.7
black *: 3.9
dark blue #: 4.1

Found interesting LRM in ebay a few days ago. Since the auction is now over it will be more fair to show these not until now (I personally didn't even bid but I think some rc10talk members did)

This was Brandon's car wasn't it? Lovely Junior2, was very tempted, but I now have too many old R/C cars... the car didn't fetch as much as I would have thought?Jirka wrote:Found interesting LRM in ebay a few days ago. I too have seen the grey gearbox cases - for sale, but mostly on LRM LXT trucks? The grey wheels look almost like they've been sprayed - not seen those before (I wonder if the 'metallic' runs through the plastic?)

Re: Some losi parts variations
A little more modern part variation
Battery posts for the 4wd cars.
They are exactly the same height, one has extra set of holes and the other has that circular lip on it.
The one with 3 holes came off my Rally Weapon. I looked up the part numbers and everything in the manuals and explodes doesn't show one that looks the one with 3 holes. The part numbers are all the same as the XX4.
I did see that Jamin has the same 3 holes posts on his Street Weapon. Odd that the Rally Weapon and Street Weapon have different posts.

Re: Some losi parts variations
This time I have a pre-production motor plate. I won this motor plate from ebay some time ago and it was from Rich T. so this is a "real thing". The pre-production motor plate do not have anodization on it just plain aluminum surface. In pre-production motor plate the color is more gray than in production motor plate where color is more blue. Also the surface is more smooth and shiny on some places.
Pre-production motor plate on top, production motor-plate (with Jrx2-logo stamped on back) on bottom. Pre-production motor plate on bottom, production motor plate on top The Jrx2 sticker was with this motor plate when I got it and this sticker might also be a from pre-production era. You can see white areas around the yellow Jrx2 logo and red background, the geometry in printing process of white and yellow (and red?) did not match 100%.

Re: Some losi parts variations
Found another. I knew of the short steering sector arm vs the earlier longer one, but did not previously notice that there were different thicknesses of arm. Here are 2, the one mounted on the bellcranks is .055" the other .072,

JRX Pro-SE kits had running changes. Two different chassis, different front arms. You want pics from a later kit like the SE?

Re: Some losi parts variations
Some Stickers.
I had the a-8300 NIP 2 variations, one with part number in red and one in blue. slightly different sticker layout to add in the "naturals" logo.
Just got some partial sheets off the bay, these have no part number, no "made in USA" and do have 2 crosshairs that the others do not.
The lot came with 3 of the no part number sheets and 3 blue part number sheets. all are the same overall size and appear to be the same material.
The no # sheet is missing the yellow in the prime lightning bolt.

Re: Some losi parts variations
I noticed a minor variation yesterday while rebuilding a couple LRM transmissions: there are two styles of pressed on, brass top gears. One is a straight sided gear, while the other has a bevel at the inner diameter.

Re: Some losi parts variations
Here is something interesting I’ve come across.. A half full rib/half staggered rib, 2.15” front tire..? I have never seen or heard of this tire before and a quick research turned up nothing. This came on a parts lot car and unfortunately there was only one.
