10T versus WC Trans Cases: Interchangeable?

Post by guitronics »

I have a bunch of 10T cases, and Worlds Car cases. They look similar, except for the bolt bosses: 10T's are recessed, WC's protrude. Anybody substitute these cases?

The idle gear design is different, but the input shaft and diffs interchange directly.

You will also find the rere worlds cases are a tight mesh to the point that things get notchy. The idler is the part I found was the worst, I have a video showing a stock rere, then swapping the case but leaving the rere idler (requires two sets of bearings) and then swapping the idler as well. The video speaks for itself.

Note the rere case requires the rere idler, however the rere idler will work with the original case you just need two sets of bearings.

I just posted this in a different thread yesterday, the Dynotech #9038 "GT Idler Gear" is a perfect fit on non-Worlds Stealth transmissions.

I was getting a bunch of stuff from Dynotech and decided to give it a try, considering that AE has stopped making them again.

Ok I’m guessing I really need to be educated on the differences between the two cases in question. I’m also now kinda freaking out a little that my original Worlds Car doesn’t have the correct trans....... I already knew it didn’t have the correct aluminum screws but I’m going to be really bummed if it’s completely incorrect.

My case does look just like the one in the photos in the 25 year thread. So yes I’m a bit confused.

Worlds rere is different than worlds. Everything stealth in the old days was the same and had the bushings that go between the motor plate and trans. The rere trans case had them built in. The OP mentioned worlds case with the bosses so it was just meaning it’s a rere case.

They are 4-40 X 1". Use whatever you want.

The Team Associated blue aluminum is #6935. They still make them.

Thank you very much !!
I figure if I get them I can remove the anodized blue and the heads would end up looking just like the originals.

The black screws are available as well. So you don’t have to strip them. If you want a silver color the 4-40 screws are available in steel.
