RC10 Shock Shafts
Not sure if this is the right place. Looking to understand options for replacement shock shafts on the older Associated shocks. I noticed a bent shaft on one of the front shocks on my RC10GT. If I remember correctly these are the 1.02" shocks. Are there current offerings which would work as a replacement for these or am I limited to what I can find on ebay?
Thanks,
George

Re: RC10 Shock Shafts
Newer 27.5mm shafts will work in 1.02 bodies. Just be sure to use new seals, as the newer shafts are slightly (very, very slightly) smaller diameter.
Just be sure to get the ones that retain the piston with e-clips, not screws.

Re: RC10 Shock Shafts
Thanks, I was looking at those, the length was close enough. Was not sure how the diameter would work although I figured it was close. Do the seals from the newer shocks fit into the older bodies or do I need to source some silicone 0-rings?juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 1:45 pm Newer 27.5mm shafts will work in 1.02 bodies. Re: RC10 Shock Shafts
Most fit but there are some with larger shafts.
I use common -006 size, 50A silicone o rings. They aren't anything special.
There are some kits on Ebay for ~$6.
