Sorry for the bump, but I literally just glanced over the package of Peeps in the pantry. 'Tis the season... My little baby is 15 now!

Freshly opened, soft Peeps are delicious. I'd heard about roasting Peeps over a fire a long time ago. Sounded great: roasted marshmallow with caramelized sugar coating the outside... however, not as good as it sounds. Live and learn. But I still love Peeps.

Every time I eat them, I eat several in a row while thinking, "why, in hell, am I eating these?"
They are kind of like SPAM in that regard. But SPAM is way better.
I think with Peeps, it's the grainy abrasive crunch tempered by the soft but ever so slightly gummy texture that makes them just "OK". I don't love them but I won't pass on them if given the opportunity. That said, I don't seek them out either.
I guess what I am saying is if I am at my parents house over Easter and for some inexplicable reason, my Mom has some Peeps out for the younger generation, I will eat 3 to 5 Peeps in just under two minutes.
