Reedy Mr. Outlaw Super Stock

Post by MarkyDents »

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at this motor and never realized that the word Super is an additional decal on top of the can sticker. Why is this? I’ve seen plenty of Mr. Outlaw motors without it. Is there a difference?

Looking around, I've seen some indication that it might have a little more timing.

The regular one is listed at 38°, and I seen a package for the super that said it was 39°.

Well that is weird... maybe the 36* on the one label was a misprint because otherwise there was no spec difference

The "super" versions of the Reedy TruStock and Mr. Outlaw were an updated motor that had a "short stack" armature.

Seems 36 did exist at some stage.... June 1991.

Bringing this back up. I was looking through an old RCCA buyers guide and seen this.

Just a little something to differentiate between the "#551 Mr. Outlaw" and the "#553 Super Outlaw".

Or just more to add to the confusion.

While doing the brushed motor guide, I frequently encountered confusing and conflicting info like this. :? Nevertheless, I've added these motors with the specs contained here.
