Re: RC10 FF
Wow. It's pretty clear that this is the "deep end of the pool" when it comes to builds! Absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see it running.

Re: RC10 FF
Thank you so much, chilihook.
It is quite a substantial build and it’s a bit learning by doing.
Fortunately the knowledge is out there and after much researching and finding other FF builds the picture of what’s needed clears to some extent

I was offered a set of Yokomo wheel adapters from Mr. ED and as I had a pair of Yokomo ZC-800 wheels and a pair of Schumacher U6797 tires it seemed fitting for this build.
I also finished the last bit on the trailing arms. M2 grub screw for securing the toe in setting.
Still waiting on the Mirage SS body. Once received I can determine body and wing post placement.

Wow! ! ! How did I miss this build ? This is really well done , you should be pleased as punch with the result
I'm deeply jealous of your car , can't wait to see it run !

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: RC10 FF
Thank you so much, Dadio! I’m pretty pleased with it so far.
I’m stuck regarding the rear body mount..
Don’t know if to do an aluminum/steel bar influenced by the Yokomo 834 (on inside of body), neodymium magnets or two pan car posts..
I need your input guys..

Re: RC10 FF
I think I'd throw some electrics in there and then look at what space there is for mounting points , the later 834 RPS style roll hoop might fit well but its not delicate or refined to look at and the rest of the build looks refined and light , I might put two posts at the rear on the body side pods , that would be subtle with the body off and secure when its on . Or as you have Kydex up front an 834 ish Kydex roll hoop at the back ? might look good .

Re: RC10 FF
Are you leaving the rear section of the body intact or chopping it off flush with the rear of the chassis?

My thought is to leave it as it is now.adam lancia wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 5:28 am Are you leaving the rear section of the body intact or chopping it off flush with the rear of the chassis?
Something similar to the HPI-Koga FF, but the Mirage is way longer than the Ultima body.

Re: RC10 FF
I was thinking of small side posts just like the Tamiya F1 has. Just want them in white. I'll see what i find in the boxes. Kydex roll hoope is a good one as well.Dadio wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 5:07 am I think I'd throw some electrics in there and then look at what space there is for mounting points , the later 834 RPS style roll hoop might fit well but its not delicate or refined to look at and the rest of the build looks refined and light , I might put two posts at the rear on the body side pods , that would be subtle with the body off and secure when its on . Appreciate your input.
Yes that goes well with the Yokomo parts and era feel of the build. Just need to make it look good with the rest of the car.. Appreciate your input.

Gold anodised this could work .

Re: RC10 FF
The Parma Eagle body has the pods to far back. That would result in cutting away parts of the cockpit.
The Losi xx4 body is too narrow for the gold pan. Losi xxx4 might fit, but I need to get that confirmed.
I cant use the RCL Incident body (Ryuz/Kanda Special) as that also are too narrow. 130mm in whith. Gold pan 137mm.
I also have the Kyosho Lazer ZX body that I'm working on. It has the same width as the Mirage SS.
One solution to the rear body post issue is to do a second upper deck at the rear, but that demands a really good design and access to the battery hold down.

Re: RC10 FF
The duck tail is not that bad once the wing comes on. Sure the cockpit is high on the Mirage..
Reminder that the rear end is high as no battery is weighing it down.
Sorry for poor quality on pics
