New toy in the shop
New toy in the shop. After a couple months of research and trying to learn a bit on my own about them I went and bought a 3D printer earlier in the week. Got the Ender 3 V2 and also bought the Swiss direct drive dual gear aluminum extruder and all metal hot end for it. Just finished last night building an enclosure for it. First few days were a little rough on the learning curve but really starting to get the hang of it now. Almost done with a 12hr print of a Game of Thrones statue for the theater room. Also been printing a set of 1/10 headers for one of my trucks which so far the one side came out really nice looking.

First display quality 3d print done and painted. This one turned out even better than I had hoped it would. Very pleased with this printer. Trying to teach myself how to use Tinkercad now so I can design my own things to print.

Re: New toy in the shop
I have an upgraded Ender 3 Pro that I have been using for a couple years now. Finally built an enclosure for ABS which I might start making some parts on if I can't find reasonable replacements for my car. I used a lot of PLA making dungeon settings for game nights, but sadly, no game nights in the last year. I've done some pretty cool prints on mine (at least I think they're cool). I upgraded recently to the direct drive (swissmicro) and all metal hot end. I really like it. I don't think you will need to upgrade much on yours since they did a decent job on that model.

Re: New toy in the shop
Just finished up painting this 3D print of a battle ogre tonight. This was a long print. Took 52hrs to fully print it. I scaled it up 250% so it is a full 9" tall, so that's one reason why it took so long to print. Really enjoying the 3D printer, gives me another outlet for one of the things I enjoy doing, which is painting. Only problem is I can tell I will need to add more shelves to the theater room at some point to hold all my prints soon

Those all look great ! I can't imagine not having a 3d printer now !
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Thanks. Just finished this up as well. Printed this in 18 different pieces and then put them all together. I know what you mean. I've only had mine (I bought a 2nd one now lol) for 3 weeks and I honestly have no idea how I got along without them

Got some time today to paint the Predator 3D print that I finished printing last night. Took 7 days of printing and about 6 hours of paint work but it's gonna look great in the theater room.

Great job! Your painting skills are great! Reminds me of Rawhead Rex too!

No theater room is complete without some Star Wars decor. Tallest 3D print I have done so far, about 14". Did a weathered looking paint job on him.
