I never thought I would ever get to see this race again so was massively chuffed to discover this footage had been taken, focusing on the late Matthew Hodgson and his Tomy Intruder who qualified on pole that day. After one half-crash on the opening lap I had a clear run to the line running the black Yokomo 870c with the white wing starting from mid-grid and steadily sneaking up through the field.
The standard class that year was 27T stock motors with around 30deg advance from what I can remember.... that straight felt awfully long but at least there was a decent amount of infield. Proper vintage racing!!
